Ethereum Ecosystem Wheel

Press Spin. Every coin on the wheel has the same chance.

The Ethereum ecosystem wheel picks one of twenty tokens issued on Ethereum at random. It is the largest ecosystem in crypto by a wide margin, which means the twenty that make this wheel are a thin slice of a very deep list.

The deepest list on the site, cut hardest

More large tokens are issued here than anywhere else, by a considerable margin. That makes this the wheel where twenty is the least representative number on the site: it is a thin slice off the top of a list that runs for thousands of entries, most of which have real users and none of which will ever appear on a twenty-segment wheel.

It also makes this wheel overlap with several others. DeFi protocols, scaling networks and a good share of the AI category all issue here, so a token can legitimately belong to this wheel and two more. A venue cuts across sectors by definition, and no amount of tidying the categories would change that.

    What the tag actually covers

Mostly tokens following the standard fungible-token interface, which is what people usually mean by the term. But the data provider's tag is broader than the strict technical reading: it can include assets bridged in from other chains, and tokens whose main deployment is on a network that settles here rather than on the base layer itself.

Those are defensible inclusions — a rollup token really is part of this ecosystem in any sense a person would use the word — but they mean the tag is closer to "associated with" than "deployed on". If you need the strict version, the contract address is the only thing that settles it, and no wheel is going to show you one.

Why the standard mattered more than any single token

The reason this ecosystem is the deepest is not that its tokens were better. It is that a single boring interface specification arrived early enough that every wallet, exchange and application could support every token that implemented it without doing any work per token. That compounding is the whole story, and it is why an ecosystem tag on this chain covers more assets than the entire coin list of most others.

The wheel picked one of twenty of them at random and has no opinion about which. What it can say is that the twenty are the largest by market capitalisation on the date printed beneath the table, and that the list underneath them is very long indeed.

    Questions

Which Ethereum tokens are on this wheel?

All 20 of them are printed under the wheel: ETH, LINK, LEO, SHIB, UNI, WLFI, ONDO, AAVE, MNT, PEPE, DOT, SKY, WLD, ENA, BGB, MORPHO, KCS, POL, ATOM and QNT. Stablecoins and wrapped tokens are left off, and you can replace the whole list in Custom mode.

Why does this wheel look like several others?

Because most large tokens are issued on Ethereum, so this ecosystem overlaps heavily with the DeFi, AI and layer 2 wheels. It is a venue rather than a sector, and venues cut across sectors.

    Are these all ERC-20 tokens?

Most are, but the tag covers anything the data provider associates with the ecosystem, which can include assets bridged from elsewhere and tokens whose main deployment is on a network that settles to Ethereum.
